The Baird Creek Preservation Foundation in partnership with Bellin Health Titletown Wellness has decided that for the safety and well-being of our community that the Run for the Hill of It race event will be held in a modified race format.
- you will use an app called RaceJoy to follow the route and to be timed
- the race will follow the same route through the Baird Creek Greenway
- you will have from Saturday, October 10 through Sunday, October 18 to complete the course through RaceJoy
- the course will be marked
- your time will be competitively calculated by age groups
- you can also participate in the King and Queen of the Hill segment as well
Watch for more details to be emailed as we get closer to the kick off date. If more convenient you will have the option to run the 3.1 miles from anywhere BUT your time will not be entered into the age group competitions or King and Queen of the Hill timing.
All giveaways will be handed out in a format to be decided on shortly.
More information below…please support our efforts in the Greenway by still participating in the modified format! We’re sorry but there are no refunds as we still have the cost of timing through RaceJoy and all other race deposits that we had to make. Please do come run in the Greenway and use the RaceJoy app – what is special about this race is the fall colors and Baird Creek and we still have that!
The 8th Annual Run for the Hill of It 5K Trail Run challenges runners to run three miles on mostly unpaved trail through the scenic Baird Creek Greenway, and then tackle “The Big Hill” a.k.a. Triangle Hill (500 Beverly Road). This is a fun and challenging event where participants can come out and enjoy nature while getting some exercise running through the Greenway. Proceeds from the event directly benefit projects in the Baird Creek Greenway.
As part of our annual 5K run/walk event The Animal House Pet Clinic, Festival Foods and the Baird Creek Preservation Foundation are hosting a dog event for the community to come out an participate with their furry friends. Walk, run, pad…however you want to get to the finish line, all dogs are welcome. Thanks to The Animal House Pet Clinic and to Festival Foods (supplying tennis balls for participants) for sponsoring the event!
